Police Register UAPA Case, Raids Underway
On Tuesday, the Delhi Police registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act, invoking sections related to conspiracy and execution of a terror attack.
Multiple raids were carried out across the national capital after preliminary findings suggested a link between the Delhi blast and the terror module uncovered in Faridabad.
The national capital has been placed on high alert, with intensified security checks at airports, railway stations and bus terminals. Police teams are also maintaining a close watch on hotels, guest houses and border entry points.
According to police sources, Umar Mohammad, a doctor from Pulwama, was allegedly driving the Hyundai i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort Metro Station’s parking area. His image reportedly appears in CCTV footage obtained from the vicinity, where he can be seen driving a car moments before the explosion.
