U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew his threat of further strikes against Iran on Thursday and said a deal with Tehran to end the war could be signed in coming days.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday (June 11, 2026) he has called off new military strikes on Iran, hours after threatening to escalate the war. The President said in a social media post that he made the move “based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved”.
Earlier on Thursday (June 11, 2026), Mr. Trump said that the U.S. will strike Iran “very hard”, adding that “At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets”.
